Max BLair Captures ULMS event at Marion Center Speedway

July 25, 2015
Marion Center, PA

The Zimmer’s Service Center ULMS Late Models made the historic visit to Marion Center Speedway for the $2000 to win event to see Max Blair of Centerville PA capture his second ULMS win of the season along with his second consecutive win at Marion Center. Blair held off Jared Miley at the end with lap traffic in play to capture the win.

The 30 lap main event saw 25 cars start the event with a 4 wide salute to the great fans of Marion Center Speedway. Miley and Blair were the front row starters due to their “Dash for Cash” finish. Miley got the initial jump on the original start only to see the first of four yellows come out and a complete restart was in order. The restart again saw Miley beat Blair into turn one and the first lap was completed when the yellow was thrown again. Two laps would get in before the yellow lights came out again for Jason Dupont in turn four now with Blair getting by Miley during green flag racing. The final yellow was thrown on lap four for a multi car incident that ended track regular, Doug Glessner’s night.

With Blair now leading the field on the Delaware restart he fired the field with Mike Blose diving under Miley on the start but as the field hit turn one it was still Blair, Miley and Blose. Blair started to open his lead over Miley as Doug Eck was working on Blose for third and would take over the spot as the two leaders started to check out on the field. Guaranteed starter, Rich Gardner moved up to the fourth positon as Blose started to uncharacteristically started to fall through the field. As Miley kept chase after Blair, the car on the move and praying for a caution was 23rd starting Dutch Davies who was pressuring Blose for fifth and would take fifth away as Dan Angelichio was now nipping on Blose’s rear bumper as the #5 of Blose would fall out of the top five to the surprise of many.

As the laps clicked away and five to go was shown to Blair, who now was entering lap traffic, Miley closed back in within a car length as the white flag was thrown as Miley tried the outside going into turn one and two and dove underneath Blair in turn three only to see Blair pull the H1 of Miley off the corner to grab the $2000 prize. Miley came home second with Doug Eck finishing a great third place over Rich Gardner holding off the hard charging Dutch Davies. Angelichio, Matt Lux in the Jim Deitman ‪#‎111L‬ was seventh ahead of Joe Petyak, Blose and Brent Rhebergen coming home tenth.
