The first of two RUSH Touring events for the Bonnell Collision Center Crate Late Models was run Sunday with Max Blair leading all twenty five laps after drawing the pole position for the start. Twenty-seven racers made the tow to Eriez for the event. Blair then drew the pole starting spot for the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model feature and dominated that event, leading every lap.

The featured event of the evening was the RUSH Northern Tour event for the Bonnell Collision Center Crate Late Models with former champion Max Blair leading the way to the green with Joe Martin to his right. Blair immediately assumed the lead with Martin falling into second. At five laps Blair led Martin by a quarter lap with Dave Lyon third, Kyle Zimmerman fourth and Damian Bidwell up to fifth from his twelfth starting berth.

In turn two on lap eleven Bidwell got by both Zimmerman and Lyon to run third. Blair’s lead shrunk slightly as he was in heavy traffic with his pursuers on open track. At fifteen laps Dusty Waters spun right in front of the leader. Blair’s lead evaporated to nothing as RUSH starts lapped cars behind all the lead lap cars. For the double file restart it was Blair and Martin up front with Bidwell and Lyon right behind.

At the end of one lap of green Zimmerman was up to third. At lap seventeen John Waters got sideways in turn three, collecting Jason Genco and Mark Tatalovic. Again Blair and Martin led the field back to green, this time with Zimmerman and Bidwell in row two. Zimmerman came to second after green with Bidwell coming to third, dropping Martin to fourth.

At the checkers Blair got another RUSH Touring win over Zimmerman, Bidwell, Martin, and Matt Latta.

Max Blair and Darrell Bossard brought the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model field to green with Blair blasting into the lead at the drop of Mark Matthews’s green flag. Bossard dropped into second with Steve Kania coming to third. With only three laps complete Blair had a quarter lap lead over Bossard.

At five laps Greg Oakes was fourth with opening night winner Chris Hackett fifth. Using the outside groove Hackett worked on Oakes for several laps with Mike Knight gaining on Hackett. At lap thirteen Hackett finally completed the pass and went to work on Kania, still using the high line. With ten to go Blair came to lapped traffic and a lap later Hackett got to third and Oakes followed him into fourth.

Blair went on to complete the double win with Bossard winding up second over Hackett, Oakes, and Rob Blair, who got by Kania on the final turn of the event.
